Production Blog: The Editing Process

Hello! Welcome or welcome back! It's blog day! Today I do not have much information to share but I do have some new updates on how our music video is coming along so far. In my last blog I explained how my group finished with filming and how it was with faking the crash scenes. Today is a new day and we have moved onto editing the video! So, let's get started!

Since I played the role in acting in the music video, I do not have much information on my experience with editing, but I do have a couple of points to share with you. First, I previously talked about how I played a role in choosing our editing software, Cap Cut. So, we have stuck with that plan on using that software to edit our video.

Now that everything is addressed, I can begin telling you guys about my experience and role in the editing process. I have prior knowledge on how to edit longer videos with scenes, like our music video. Therefore, I shared with my group some ideas I have with the overall look of the video. We began with choosing the opening scenes and I helped with choosing where the different camera angles and shots should be placed.

Next, I shared with my group members previous ideas that I had pictured in mind about how the video will be played out. I came up with the idea of ending the video with a black screen which says "Gone Girl" to emphasize a dramatic effect. I believe this was a great idea since this screen will take place right after the car crash occurs. After sharing with my group members, we all agreed and I began editing and coming up with different designs on that screen.

I am not entirely sure where my group is at now, but I have full trust that they will achieve what we all envision. That's all for today's blog! I hope you enjoyed, and I will hopefully see you in the next one! Hailey out!
