Final Task Production: Location

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another blog! Today's blog topic is all about the filming locations I used during filming for my final task video. There is a lot of detail that goes into a set for filming a movie and we made sure to make our locations fit the theme of the video and blend well together with the plot.

For the first scenes of my movie, I recorded Marissa and Kylee walking along a neighborhood street. We filmed this scene outside of Marissa's house at night to ensure a spooky vibe. We chose her neighborhood to walk along because it is usually never busy with cars. Therefore, we could reshoot the scenes as much as we needed without little to any disruptions by cars or other neighbors.

For the next few shots, since we were already in Marissa's neighborhood we recorded the scenes of Marissa calling her brother and handing him the costume at her house. The lighting in her house added to the eerie tone of the beginning scenes as well.

On our second designated filming day we moved to record at my house. We shot some scenes outside of Marissa's brother and a real killer fighting in the darkest part of my front yard to get the dark, night scenery portrayed.

Since I was acting in the next few scenes, shooting at my house felt way more natural because I know where everything is placed in my room and how to set up angles. We recorded some scenes and shots outside my house during night and had to turn down the lighting when editing because the streetlights were a little too bright LOL. Overall, I truly believe that as the actor, especially not a professional hah, that filming in my natural setting helped me be more comfortable in where I was during recording.

Unfortunately that is all the information I have about the locations my group and I filmed at. I hope you enjoyed this blog! Make sure to come back next time because it is finally time to reveal my video!!!! Byeeeee. Hailey out!
